Meet Jill Peeler, LMFT
Trust comes before crisis.
I help first responders navigate what the job carries home—and help departments make support part of their culture.
In therapy, we start with what matters to you and move at a pace that respects your needs and readiness.

My Why
After a debriefing with people grieving the suicide of a colleague, I drove home thinking about the questions I had heard: What did I miss? Could I have done more?
I wanted people to know me before they needed me. I wanted our first conversation to happen over coffee, with time to learn a name and share a laugh.
That is why I spend time inside public safety agencies. I say hello at briefings, join conversations, and get to know the people doing the work. You do not have to be struggling to say hello. We can start with an ordinary conversation.
I keep coming back because relationships take time. I listen, ask questions, and learn what matters to you beyond the uniform. My hope is that when something is weighing on you, reaching out feels a little easier because we already know each other.
We cannot prevent every tragedy, and no one should carry the blame for another person’s death. We can keep making support easier to reach and building places where people feel less alone.
I want you to know who I am, how I listen, and that you matter, long before you need to ask for help.
My Connection to Public Safety
I grew up in San Francisco and spent 30 years with the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program. From 2007 to 2022, I worked in emergency communications and jail operations with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office as a Sheriff Service Assistant and dispatcher.
Those experiences shape how I understand the demands of the job—and the impact it can have on life at home.
Trust Comes Before Crisis
I believe trust is built by showing up, listening, and getting to know the person behind the uniform. Whether we meet in my office or within your agency, my approach is personal, practical, and respectful of public safety culture.
Together, we can work toward greater connection, healthier coping, and a life that has room for more than the job.
